If you're anything like we are (ie, the result of mixing a rabid Joss Whedon obsession with a healthy appreciation for all things superhero), then you're gobbling up every bit of news related to The Avengers that comes along. It is with this desperate need for anything and everything to do with The Avengers in mind that we present to you five brand new photos from Marvel's upcoming superhero flick.
Behold: Five new photos from The Avengers.
These pictures were released in this week's feature in Empire magazine. Empire also had several juicy covers featuring four of the Avengers themselves: Black Widow, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man.
The new photos include a much-needed close up of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. In the close-up, we can see the hard-as-nails S.H.I.E.L.D. operative's scars around his iconic eye patch. Will the secret behind Nick Fury's missing eye be revealed in the movie?
We also get to see Bruce Banner aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) hanging out sans costume... or radioactive alter ego, that is. It makes sense that Banner and Stark, of all the Avengers, would bond, seeing as how they're both insanely talented scientists with a penchant for justice.
And speaking of bonding, our favorite photo in the bunch is that of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) sharing a quiet moment. There have been rumors (and hints the size of Greenland) that these two share more than just the relationship of teammates in the fight to save the planet. They're not exactly snuggling and whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears in this photo, but there is a certain intimacy.
Check out the new photos from Empire magazine.
Can't stop the signal: The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring everyone comes out May 4th. And. We. Can't. Wait.
