Marvel Entertainment has provided a first look at their upcoming series, “Avengers World,” spinning out of the events of “Infinity.” This new Avengers series is co-written by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer, with art by Stefano Caselli. The series hits stores in January.
The Earth has been declared an Avengers World by its mightiest heroes and is safely under their protection. What measures will they take to protect the world from the new threats facing the planet after “Infinity” and how will the existing governmental authorities react to the Avengers’ claim?
Editor Tom Brevoort described the series in an interview with Marvel.com:
The premise of the book is that it's the Avengers, doing big things, because it's an Avengers World now[.] But while we'll field the same potential lineup of 18+ Avengers in ‘World,’ we'll specifically be looking to give greater screen time to some of the newer Avengers, like Hyperion, Smasher, Cannonball, Shang-Chi, Starbrand and Sunspot.
“Avengers World” #1 hits stores January 8, 2014 by Jonathan Hickman, Nick Spencer and Stefano Caselli. The issue features a cover by John Cassaday, as well as a special wraparound variant cover by Art Adams.
Also in stores January 8 is “All-New Marvel NOW! Point One” featuring an “Avengers World” lead-in story by Spencer and artist Rags Morales. See the Slideshow for a preview page of this tale.
