"I think it would be great fun," Jackie Martling said on the idea of rejoining the Howard Stern Show. "And one of the reasons I haven't gone in there and actually confronted and said 'what's the deal' is I don't know what the deal is with Artie and the last thing I would wanna do is be sayin' 'lemme have a seat' if that job's still--ya know. That makes the whole thing crazy. But everybody says 'No, no, no. He's not coming back'."
Martling did not expand on whether or not "everybody" included anybody with actual authority at Sirius XM.

This isn't the first time that Martling has lobbied to get his job back on the Howard Stern Show main stage, but it may be the first time that someone inside Sirius XM has offered any real clues on the possibility of Lange's return.
"I think it's a dead issue," said Martling, regarding the chances he'll rejoin the Howard Stern Show. "But, I loved being on the show and that's where I stand."
Martling left the Howard Stern Show over a salary dispute in 2001. He was replaced by Artie Lange who became hugely popular.
