Martina Hingis is no longer playing tennis, but she is still keeping her arms in shape by swinging. WebProNews reported on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, that both the former tennis star and her mother beat up Hingis' estranged husband after he caught her cheating on him twice in their first year of marriage.
Thibault Hutin, a French showjumper, reportedly caught Hingis cheating on him when he walked in on her with another man back in July. He forgave her, but soon caught her cheating on him once again.
Now, things have gotten a little weirder.
Hutin is waiting on his divorce from the Grand Slam champion of tennis, but things have gotten worse. Reports from several Swiss newspapers say that Hutin was sitting at home just going about his day when Hingis, her mother, and her mother's boyfriend came in and beat him up.
“On Monday evening, I was in our shared apartment when the doorbell rang. In the course of a dispute, Martina and her mother Melanie Molitor pounced on me - beating and scratching me. My upbringing forbids me to beat women," he told Blick.
"I resisted every effort but Mario Widmer, the partner of Melanie, struck me in the head with a DVD player.”
Hutin placed a phone call to police so that he could get his passport and credit card back from the three of them. The report says that it was a "violent incident" and that Hutin had also received some threatening text messages. Hutin has moved into a hotel and has plans to return to Paris.
“The policemen went back to the apartment with me and forced the three to surrender my valuables," Hutin is quoted as saying.
“They wanted to kill me. I’m shocked! I never thought it would go so far."
