PACIFIC PALISADES, California - Martin Short’s longtime wife, Nancy Dolman, 58, has died unexpectedly.
It was on Saturday when the couple was at their home in Pacific Palisades when the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to an emergency call. The response unit was there for approximately 30 minutes before leaving. It is believed Dolman passed away at home.
Dolman was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and underwent surgery. It is unknown whether or not Dolman’s passing was related to the illness. The family has reportedly said she died of natural causes.
The couple married in 1980 and five years later Dolman retired from acting to raise their family. She was Gilda Radner’s understudy for Saturday Night Live and she is best known for a recurring role as Annie Selig Tate on the TV sitcom “Soap.”
They met in 1972 while working on a stage production of ‘Godspel’ and married in 1980. They have three children: Katherine Elizabeth, 27, Oliver Patrick, 24, and Henry, 20.
