Martin Short's wife of 30 years has died of cancer. Nancy Dolman, an actress who met Martin Short while working on a Canadian production of the musical "Godspell" in the 1970s, was only 58 years old. Nancy Dolman retired from acting in 1985 to focus on raising the three children she had with Martin.
Martin Short is no stranger to death. He lost his brother in a car accident when Martin was only 12 and both his parents died before he was 21. On his parents' deaths, Martin once remarked, "I never looked at it as if it was a tragedy -- that I didn't have them my whole life. You learn some sense of priorities. Our whole family took the attitude that if you have wonderful moments, don't second-guess them, just enjoy them."
Nancy Dolman had been battling cancer for 3 years. She died on August 23, 2010 in California. There will be no funeral services per her request.
