Over the course of any modern day, most Americans find cause to complain over the injustices of poorly timed traffic lights, high utility bills, pot holes, too much to do and not enough time to do it, etc.
Few of us can imagine what it would be like to ripped from your families and communities, slapped in chains, treated like livestock and shipped across the great expanse of an ocean to a strange land and be told you are no longer free to control the direction of your own life.
And this oppression by slavery lasted for centuries and through multiple paradigm shifts in human intellectual evolution.
Slavery began under a philosophy of Government known as the “Divine Right of Kings” The King and/or Queen was believed to be a god or the representative of God here on earth and therefore no earthly being could question their divine authority and decisions. And King/Queen owned all the land and “Subjects” could only be upon any land with the permission of the King/Queen or their representatives. That right, Subjects not Citizens.
When omnipresent Natural Law was reduced to writing during the Enlightenment (1650AD-1800AD). the Government philosophy of “Consent of the Governed” contributed to the storming of the French Bastille and became cornerstone to the Founding Documents of the American Nation.
Despite this, the economic interests that benefitted from slavery had the money and political power to keep it alive for more than another century and a half, until the American Civil War.
Even then the adherence to Natural Law did not bring Woman’s Suffrage for another 50 years and “All men are created equal” eluded reality in practice until the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr pressed the powers that be in such a manner that they could no longer ignore nor resist.

As often happens, historic figures who are the catalyst of great change and/or paradigms shifts, are/were treated as enemies by the established government and the powers that be. Governments and the Powers that be, first try to demonize, discredit and Marginalize these persons who are the catalysts of great change. (See FBI, COINTELPRO and Martin luther King http://goo.gl/h9zwn ) And, also as too often happens, this great man Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down in an attempt to stop the change he advocated.
While racism is far from over in America, we can take hope in knowing we are headed in the right direction with 2 consecutive elections of a black president.

Today we celebrate the Federal Holiday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., a richly deserved recognition for all he accomplished on behalf of his fellow man.
It is a nice thought to think that the evil of slavery has now been eradicated for eternity, but it has not. Even as you read this article, forces in our own government seek a return to the “Divine Right of Kings” philosophy so their decisions and actions cannot be questioned… (No more Consent of the Governed) The NDAA, presidential executive orders allowing torture and limiting access to guns and other attacks upon our Bill of Rights are attacks upon our unalienable Natural Law Rights described in the Declaration of Independence.
Further, forces among the powers that be are working to perfect a new form of slavery barely recognizable as slavery so that the masses don’t even know to resist and protest. This new form of slavery is called “involuntary servitude” also prohibited by the 13th Amendment.
You feel the effects of this “involuntary servitude” in having to work 60 hour weeks to make ends meet. Money is being stolen from each American by Government waste and fraud made possible by the lack of transparency that the Founding Fathers originally incorporated in our Founding Documents. The point is every American is now subject to unconstitutional “involuntary servitude” that has been constructed in such a way to make it virtually undetectable to rank and file Americans. More difficult because this additional burden makes them work harder just try to survive.
And the fight is even tougher because the enemy doesn’t consistently have white skin or wear black hats, nor slap the indentured servants into visible chains.… They pretend to be our public servants known as Politicians. They win the support of some others of us rank and file folks by purchasing their votes with taxpayer money… welfare, government contracts, etc. But at the same time they are buying votes and pretending to be public servants, they are lining their pockets and the pockets of their campaign contributors. Money secreted away from the fruit of your labors without most of you even knowing.
Because the powers that be accomplish taking money from you, in most instances without holding a gun to your head or leaving obvious evidence that you have robbed, you aren’t even aware that wealth has been taken from the fruit of your labors and without the ability to opt out. This essentially reduces you to a state of involuntary servitude.
Despite being visible to all, slavery remained through the seduction of elected officials with money and brute force. Overtime, various persons endeavored to break this abominable practice’s hold on America. Among them Martin Luther King, to who we dedicate this day of recognition.
But the modern day instruments of “Involuntary Servitude” are not visible and obvious to all. Our Government and the Powers that be have greatly reduced or eliminated the transparency of Government the Founder’s provided for. This makes discovery of, and dissemination of the news of these new instruments of Involuntary Servitude, to the masses very difficult.
None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.
