Education is thought of as the torch that lights the future; Martin County’s School District is in search for three school board members on fire with “fire in the belly” for educational success in the county’s school system that will keep Martin County schools as frontrunners and high achievers in the State of Florida, across the nation and around the world. In the 2014 election cycle, there are three districts up for election: District 1, 3 and 4.

School districts are the organizational structure of the county’s school agenda while the school board is the governing body of each county’s overall education program in the state of Florida with the Florida Department of education overseeing all 67 county school districts to meet the needs of students and communities (also their parents/guardians) from kindergarten to grade 12. Currently in Martin County (Stuart, FL is the county seat) there are three districts that are up for election purposes in the 2014 election cycle which are districts 1, 3, and 4.

Martin County is an “A” rated district by the Florida Department of Education and is consistently ranked among the highest academic performing school districts among Florida’s 67 counties. Our schools provide students with rigorous and relevant curriculum, as well as opportunities to participate in advanced and honors courses, dual enrollment, career academies, and the International Baccalaureate program. There are also incredible fine arts programs, athletic programs, and civic clubs and organizations from which students may choose to participate.
