Martial artist diet for 2012

Rev up your metabolism and build consistent energy that will help you charge through your martial arts workouts in 2012.  It's all about the diet.  Not diet in the sense of depriving yourself of foods in order to lose weight.  What is meant here is that every athlete should develop a healthy plan for balancing their regular diet so that it provides the nutrition, energy and satisfaction we all desire.  First of all, cut down on the white sugar and flour and white sugar and flour based products.  Here are a few staples to keep in your diet instead:

Olive oil, green leafy vegetables, oatmeal, eggs, raw vegetables, salmon and other lean proteins, blueberries, apples, whole grains and nuts.

Besides eating well, exercise (even only 20 minutes per day) can dramatically improve your mental outlook and physical condition over time.  Don't resolve to do it in 2012, just do it for life!
