Martial Art instructors unite to end bullying

In recognition of October's upcoming "Bully Defense Month," martial art instructors are uniting worldwide in their goal to empower one million people to end bullying.

Hyper 1 Million will be conducting one million bully defense workshops across the globe which will include "Youth Empowerment" workshops as well. Opened to professional martial art instructors only, their mission is to inspire one million kids and families to end bullying within their communities.

The website offers startling statistics related to the problem kids face with bullying:

  • Every 7 minutes a child is bullied
  • 85% of the time, there is no intervention by an adult or other authority
  • Each day, 160,000 children will miss school due to bullying
  • Bullying is the leading factor in suicide among kids 11-16 years of age
  • By the age of 24, 60% of bullies have been charged with a crime
  • 34% of all children (1 out of 3) report being bullied regularly, several times per year
  • 86% of children between the ages of 12-15, report that bullying has interfered with their school studies
