The goddess of all things recipes and cooking had butcher Ryan Farr on her cooking segment Wednesday. While talking about how to prepare delicious meals from homemade sausages, Stewart stepped out of character in a rare moment not usually seen from her legion of fans.

Barr pushed back on her comparison, but was quickly upstaged by MS who said she "bet they [would] work," especially if they are “good enough for sausage." The Martha Stewart dirty joke was born.

Give her a break. The popular and trusted (most of the time) home and living guru is known for her stern persona and tough set of shoulders. As the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. (ticker symbols: MSLO, NYSE: MSO), she's built up a billion dollar empire of providing tips on recipes, weddings, bridal affairs, housing tips, and putting on impressive shindigs.
Along the way, she spent time briefly in federal prison for false statements to investigators about the sale of stock. Suddenly, the world turned against her claiming she'd fallen from grace. She would then make a comeback with a new found attitude.
Perhaps now the Martha Stewart dirty joke was her way of "coming out" and letting her hair down, so to speak. And maybe she, like Kate Middleton, is trying to be part of the commoners -- you know -- the 99% in the Occupy Wall Street protests.

Her daughter Alexis Stewart, 46, recently published a compelling tell-all book about her childhood and growing up in her mother's house.
Her book Whateverland: Learning to Live Here tells a chilling story about a side of her mom not seen by the public.
She talked about how living with her mom was akin to being in an Army boot camp, as she was subjected to strict discipline. She mentioned a dark side of her mom when she described how Martha would point a glue gun to her head, simulating a real gun.

Thankfully, the pair has worked out their rocky relationship. Today, Alexis works closely with her mom in her daily "Living" business. The two are often photographed in public together.
