A MARTA bus driver may face charges in a collision that injured six people, including one man who had to be airlifted to an Atlanta hospital.
But as of late Wednesday no charges have been filed in the wreck.
The incident happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday on Roosevelt Highway near Buffington Road, according to Fulton County police.
The MARTA bus was traveling southbound on Roosevelt Highway when the driver, Ms. Sandra Clark, allegedly turned left onto Buffington Road in front of a northbound Toyota Corolla, police spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride said.
The vehicles collided, causing significant damage to the front of the Toyota, the sergeant said.
The driver, Mr. Cedric Ford, 33, was seriously injured and had to be flown to the Atlanta Medical Center, Sgt. McBride said.
His female passenger and four passengers from the MARTA bus were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.
Charges are expected to be filed pending the outcome of the investigation, Sgt. McBride said.
Ms. Clark, who has been driving for 12 years, was placed on administrative leave, MARTA spokesman Mr. Lyle Harris said.
Police have not yet released the names of the other people who were injured. And Mr. Ford’s condition was not available late Wednesday.
