Marshawn Lynch really likes Skittles. The 27-year-old running back for the Seattle Seahawks has been a big fan of the sugary treat ever since his mother first introduced him to the candy during his Pop Warner days. According to ESPN, she affectionately called them "power pellets."
On Jan. 28, 2014, Skittles announced that Marshawn Lynch's love affair with the brand was finally going legit. The company has reached a formal deal with the running back, which includes $10,000 donations to Lynch's Fam 1st Family Foundation for each touchdown he scores on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Fam 1st Family Foundation's mission statement vows that the organization " . . . is dedicated to uplifting and empowering youth in the Bay Area and throughout the United States. The foundation’s mission is one of empowerment and education, aiming to build self-esteem and academic learning skills in underprivileged youth." Hopefully, Marshawn Lynch will score plenty of $10,000 touchdowns for the charity during the Super Bowl.
