A man wanted after a fatal shooting outside a Daytona Beach bar last month was arrested Wednesday in Palm Beach County. Daytona Beach Police spokesperson Jimmie Flynt says 23-year old Ian Maddox was taken into custody in Riviera Beach Wednesday afternoon on Volusia County warrants for First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder. The Palm Beach Post reported Wednesday that Maddox had been tracked down by the U-S Marshall’s Office, with assistance from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The Post article said the Marshalls surrounded a home in Riviera Beach Wednesday afternoon and took Maddox into custody without incident. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Jail Booking website showed Maddox in custody on an “out-of-county warrant”, and being held without bond, Wednesday evening.

Daytona Beach Police reported that they obtained the warrants for Maddox on July 20th after a shooting earlier that day outside the Circus Bar on Mason Avenue. Officers had been called to the bar around 1:30 that morning due to reports of gunshots, and found 27-year old Cory Kiser lying outside the Circus Bar with “…what appeared to be several gunshot wounds.” Kiser died later at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. Police said Kiser had been “…shot numerous times…” with an unknown weapon.

Two other people were also injured in the shooting, but their injuries were non-life threatening, according to Daytona Beach Police. A woman was shot in the hand during the incident, and a man also showed up later at Halifax Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
