Marroquin hopes to bounce back from first loss Saturday night in difficult fight

Dallas - based featherweight Roberto Marroquin tries to rebound from his first pro loss Saturday night in Denver when he takes on Jose Angel Beranza on the televised portion of the Top Rank Live! broadcast on Fox Sports Net.

Marroquin, 19-1 (14 KO's), from Dallas, will be working with his new trainer, veteran Paul Reyes of Fort Worth, for the first time. Reyes' name may be familiar to Dallas - Fort Worth fans as he was the trainer for former world champion Donald "The Cobra" Curry and many other popular fighters over the past 30 years.

Beranza, 33-20 (26 KO's) fights out of Mexico City and as his record indicates is a dangerous knockout puncher.

Marroquin certainly isn't looking for a soft touch opponent to get back in the win column as Beranza has more knockouts as Marroquin has total fights.

Marroquin reeled off 19 consecutive wins before losing a 10 round split-decision to Francisco Leal, a former title contender back in April at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, OK.
