Gay men and women can't marry the person that they love, yet. Of course, that day is coming, just a matter of when and not if. Well, Salt Lake City is more progressive then Utah as a whole (a whole lot of heck more as I am coming to realize) and there are many families there who support marriage equality.
This video is of a wedding proposal in a Home Depot in that city, involving friends and family of the couple. Home Depot by the way has been very supportive of gay rights until recently, when a boycott by religious right-wing groups forced a change in policy. Hopefully Home Depot starts supporting the movement once again.
Unfortunately, this couple won't be able to marry in Utah, or at least to be recognized by that state. They, just like in most states, have to go somewhere else. That is a shame, but as I said, one day every state will enjoy full equality.
