Saturday night Juan Manuel Marquez out boxed Serhiy Fedchenko and took a unanimous decision victory before a hometown crowd of approximately 22,000 fans in Mexico City’s new Arena Mexico.

Following the bout, which was a tune-up for a proposed fourth fight with Manny Pacquiao, Marquez expressed his interest in bringing the rematch to Arena Mexico.

“I am hoping promoter Fernando Beltran can bring the fourth fight against Pacquiao to Arena Mexico,” said Marquez.

Before Pacquiao and Marquez can return to a ring together, both pugilists have unfinished business in the coming months.

On June 9th Pacquiao will face American Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, while Marquez has a fight scheduled on July 14th at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Marquez would like to face a left-handed boxer on July 14th, as preparation for Pacquiao – who is a southpaw.

Mercito Gesta, a young up and coming Filipino, has been suggested as an opponent and would seem to be ready to challenge Marquez after building a 25-0-1 record with 17 knock-outs.

Pacquiao – Marquez has been an entertaining fight series, but for the rivalry can ignite itself again both men has to score victories against young, hungry rivals.
