This holiday season, Sin City and the Brew City will come together.
On Thursday, it was announced that the Marquette Golden Eagles will be one of four programs to take part in the inaugural MGM Grand Showcase, slated to be held on Dec. 21 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Marquette, who is also scheduled to take part in the Wooden Legacy Tournament in late November, will square off against the Lobos of New Mexico as part of a doubleheader (Oklahoma State versus Colorado will complete the evening's double dip) to be featured on the ESPN family of networks.
The contest between MU, who will playing their first year as an affiliate of the new Big East, and New Mexico, the reigning Mountain West conference champions, will air on ESPNU and is slated for a 6:10 p.m. CT tip off.
Each of the two games will benefit Coaches vs. Cancer, an initiative engineered by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society.
