Marleau, who won the men's ice hockey gold medal with Team Canada at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, leads the NHL with nine goals heading into Thursday's game against the Edmonton Oilers.
The nine goals is mind boggling when you consider San Jose has only played in six regular season games.
Marleau, a left winger from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, also leads the National Hockey League in points with 14. He is tied with teammate Joe Thornton, who also won a gold medal in men's ice hockey for Team Canada at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
On Monday, Marleau was named the NHL's first star of the week with goaltender Corey Crawford of the Chicago Blackhawks the second star and Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Martin St. Louis the third star.
The Sharks are the only team in the NHL so far not to lose in regulation or in overtime.
