Mark your calendars: furlough days canceled, Jeffco open enrollment begins

A reminder for Jeffco parents marking dates on new 2013 calendars: school will now be in session on two previously-scheduled furlough days, and open enrollment begins Jan. 9.

Students should expect to attend school on Wednesday, April 10 and Friday, May 3. The voters' approval of the 2012 mill levy override, 3A, provides funding for both days. School had previously been canceled on both days due to budget cuts.

The revised 2012-13 calendar can be downloaded at the Jeffco Schools website.

The first round of choice enrollment also opens tomorrow. Parents can apply to enroll students in schools other than their neighborhood school between Jan 9. and Jan. 24. The application form and instructions for open enrollment are also available on the Jeffco Schools website.
