Mark Westfall, a long term Coral Springs forester ran a special EarthFest event in Coral Springs.

The event was organized to give trees to Coral Springs residents and educate people on the importance of preserving the environment. About 600 trees and small plants were given away during the event. The goals was to encourage people to plant trees and shrubs on their properties.

"I believe more people should plant trees in their yards. Shade from trees cools home and yards. We need to increase the tree canopy in Coral Springs," said Westfall.

And soon Westfall will leave his position as a forester in Coral Springs. "I have enjoyed working for Coral Springs, but I will leave after a successful career here," said Westfall.
