After bringing in a paycheck of $400 million worldwide, “Ted” was a furry hit. Once “Ted” hit theaters it was inevitable that a sequel would be in the making.
Everyone fell in love with the foul-mouthed, party bear known as Ted. About a month ago, Mark Wahlberg announced he would be involved in the making of “Ted 2,” stating he would begin plans for a second in the comedy film series after his taping of “Transformers 4.”
When Wahlberg made an appearance on Anderson Cooper, he not only confirmed the making of “Ted 2,” but he announced a definite writing of a script by MacFarlane was in motion.
There is a Ted 2. We’ve already locked a deal. They’re off writing now and I’ve never done a sequel before, but I have just so much confidence in Seth. He’s such a talented and funny guy.
MacFarlane has earned a place in the spotlight after the debut of Ted. He has now become known as talented comedy writer and for his ability to pull it off in a spectacular way.
MacFarlane has already received the word to go ahead with his plan of writing, directing and production of the comedy western, “A Million Ways to Die in the West.” Seth will also be taking on a role in the western comedy.
MacFarlane also landed the hosting spot for this year’s Academy Awards.
Because MacFarlane is set to host the Oscars, Wahlberg also announced that he and Ted will be appearing at the prestigious award ceremony.
The comedy couple of Ted and Wahlberg will be starring in the comedy release, “Ted 2” sometime in the near future. While there are no speculated dates, the project will begin after the shooting of “Transformers 4” and “A Million Ways to Die in the West.” Both are expected to be finalized in late 2013. Possibly a 2014 release date for “Ted 2?”
