It will take high energy to get the Howard football program back to respectability but Mark Teague is ready for the challenge.
Teague served as the Defensive Coordinator at East Ridge last season and has been named as the new head football coach at Howard replacing Michael Calloway who resigned earlier this month.
"I'm very excited about putting my stamp on the Howard program and getting them back to prominence," Teague said.
"Even though they went through a tough year, you could see there is some bright spots over there and I can't wait to get started."
The Hustling Tigers are coming off a 1-9 season and were 3-26 in Calloway's three years as head coach.
Howard's last winning season came back in 2008.
The job will be Teague's first head coaching job.
He started his coaching career as the Defensive Coordinator at Ashford Academy (Ashford, AL) for four years from 2002-2006 before spending one year at Houston County (AL) in 2008.
Teague moved to Marion, Arkansas in 2009 and coached there until 2012 before coming to East Ridge last season.
