After meeting with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday September 11, Mark Sanchez’s promising career with the Jets may be officially over. The once franchise quarterback had one more season to fight for his job in 2013. While everything wasn’t going smoothly, Geno Smith’s performance in the third preseason game against the Giants, paved the way for Sanchez to keep the starting job. Now CBSsports.com is reporting that Mark Sanchez probably needs season ending surgery.
Mark Sanchez met with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday September 11, to get another opinion on his injured shoulder. According to reports, Sanchez is taking two days to figure out what his best course of action is.
For some reason, Rex Ryan put Sanchez in the fourth quarter of a preseason game against the Giants. It wasn’t so much that he played, but he was in the game with reserves that wouldn’t make the team. Unfortunately, he took a vicious hit and hasn’t played another down since.
Now that the competition is over, Geno Smith can relax and run the team. The Jets won their first game on a last second field goal. On Thursday, they play the New England Patriots.
