Mark Ruffalo's brother, Scott Ruffalo, is "clinging to life" after being shot in the head Monday night, according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that the "suspicious shooting" occurred in Scott's Beverly Hills apartment, which means that a suicide attempt or accident has not yet been ruled out.

Scott is a hairstylist, ET notes.
