“Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo put to rest rumors his Hulk character would get a spin-off in a tweet on March 6. Speculation had started online with a report by Latino Review that Marvel Studios was prepping a new Hulk stand-alone film. The movie was said to be based upon Marvel Comic’s “Planet Hulk” story line.
Ruffalo tweeted, “A lot of folks have been asking about the next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in Avengers 2. No plans for stand alone.”
Disney has already scheduled “Avengers 2” for release on May 1, 2015.
The Hulk might not be seen for a while, but Marvel fans will not have to wait as long for some of their other favorite characters. Robert Downey Jr. returns to theaters in “Iron Man 3” on May 3. After that Marvel Studios has “Thor 2” coming to the big screen on Nov. 8. “Captain America: the Winter Soldier” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” are both slated for release in 2014.
