Mark Markham to give benefit recital

Mark Markham is in Lincoln to perform on Sunday, February 10, at 4:00pm, at the Sheldon Museum of Art. This piano recital by world-renowned concert pianist, Markham, is a benefit for the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. The recital will be followed by cocktails and hors-d'oeuvres in the museum.

The beautiful atmosphere of the Sheldon Museum will be a fitting setting for Markham's recital. Markham, who has performed around the world, was in Lincoln to perform with the orchestra during LSO's last season, and returns to perform pieces from Bach to UNL's own Damon Thomas Lee. The audience will be treated not only to classics from Bach, Haydn, and Chopin, but will also be treated to Markham's interpretations of works by George Gershwin and Duke Ellington.

The afternoon will be one of inspirational and enjoyable piano music showcasing Markham's renowned and "unerring sense of style from the Baroque to jazz."
