The Google trends on December 11, 2010 have been dominated by those searching for information on the suicide death of Bernie Madoff's son, Mark Madoff; the 2010 Army Navy game; and Santacon 2010 in New York City.
Mark Madoff death: The son of Bernard Madoff, 46-year-old Mark Madoff was found dead after reportedly committing suicide in his Manhattan apartment on Saturday, December 11. He was under investigation in the historic Ponzi scheme that landed his father in jail. According to ABC News, his suicide comes two years to the day, and almost the precise hour and minute, of his father's arrest by the FBI. He left behind an email message to his wife but no explanation of why he chose to take his own life.
2010 Army Navy game: A top trend today is the 111th face-off between the Army Knights and Navy Midshipmen. A long standing tradition in American football, the teams are both headed for bowl games. The game kicks off at 2:30 pm ET. Turn in on television: WUSA-9, WJZ-13. Radio: WZAA (1050 AM), WBAL (1090 AM), WNAV (1430 AM), WFED (1500 AM), WTRI (1520 AM).
Santacon 2010: This annual gathering of Santa's is often called the Naughty Santas, Cheapsuit Santas, Santapalooza or the Santa Rampage. The massive gathering of people dressed in Santa costumes and in NYC, as well as around the world, is underway in Saturday December 11. This might not be a great kiddie parade, however. It's chock full of bar-hopping Santas who often sing naughty Christmas carols.
