There has been some talk lately that running back Mark Ingram is looking to be traded away from the New Orleans Saints. With at least five weeks before the trade deadline, Ingram spoke on that talk and ESPN reported on Sept. 26, 2013, that he is happy where he's at.
Ingram denied any report that he's looking for a way out of the "Big Easy."
"No. Never came from me," said Ingram, who addressed the report for the first time Thursday. "I don't know who that came from. But I love New Orleans. It's home to me. I love this organization, love my teammates, love my coaches. I'm happy here. And we're 3-0. So I'm excited about that."
Ingram is currently dealing with a toe injury that kept him out of the Saints' 31-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday. He sat out practice on Thursday, but still hopes to be able to play on Monday against the undefeated Miami Dolphins.
The Saints running back said the reports of him demanding a trade haven't really bothered him.
"It doesn't matter to me. Everybody's entitled to their opinion. It doesn't bother me. I come out every day, work my butt off to be the best person I can be, the best player I can be for this team to help us go out there and have success. I do that every single day. And as long as my teammates, my coaches and everybody in this organization knows that, that's all that matters to me."
Saints head coach Sean Payton was also asked about the trade rumors regarding Mark Ingram and he said they have "zero credibility" and are "completely false."
Ingram is currently fourth in rushing this season for the Saints behind Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles, and Khiry Robinson.
