Is Mark Hamill returning as Luke Skywalker in the upcoming “Star Wars Episode 7” film? Hamill recently revealed that there’s a good chance he, along with Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, will return to the franchise, Paste Magazine reported on Feb. 20.
“George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we’d be interested,” Hamill said in the interview. “He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts – they would write us out. I can tell you right away that we haven’t signed any contracts."
However, Mark did reveal that the former cast members are in talks to return. "We’re in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed—on their end, not mine. They’re more busy than I am.”
With Mark Hamill possibly returning to “Star Wars,” fans are excited to see what direction the franchise will go, and how the characters have evolved since the last installment.
