Halloween is almost here! It may seem like the real horror show has been going on in D.C. for the last month! If you want a break from modern politics explore our maritime history at the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
There will be story telling aboard the Star of India tonight. This is a great family activity and a relatively inexpensive way to hear some real ghost stories! If you are not able to make the "Haunting Tales from our Seafaring Past" tonight no worries. All of the staff is knowledgeable about the museum's ghostly inhabitants.
This really is one of the best spots to hit in San Diego. General admission is $16 for an adult, $13 for senior citizens, $8 for children 4-12, and free for younger children. For that price you get to actually walk through eight ships including a Soviet Submarine and The Star of India. You also get admission to the work site of the San Salvador.
If you are fortunate a "living history" event will be underway during your visit. Actors bring children onboard the boats and teach them how to be sailors in full period dress. There's usually a pirate or first mate walking around the museum to entertain you and your children.
