On Jan. 11, Marion Cotillard went with current fashion trends when she dressed up before hitting the red carpet rolled out at the storied Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. She was in that part of Tinseltown for W Magazine's celebration of the Golden Globes at a party held prior to the actual event which is scheduled for Jan. 13.
As evidenced in this photo, the famous French thespian, a consummate fashionista who is vying for a Golden Globe for her turn in the drama "Rust and Bone" as lead actress, was certainly on point.
She rocked a tantalizing graphic blouse and a pair of print pants with a black tuxedo jacket to tie the entire Prabal Gurung ensemble together. The trend of mixing and matching different prints was certainly in evidence. So was the "in" look of donning graphic prints on all or part of a outfit fit for partying.
That said, the concept of putting on Prabal Gurung, a favorite creator from Singapore who started training in India and who came on the American scene in 2009, is also an enduring trend. Indeed, the daring style master consistently comes up with designs that suits fashionistas willing to be chameleons when it comes to strutting red carpets during awards show season or at any other time of the year, for that matter.
So, that puts Marion Cotillard on the cutting edge, don't you think?
And while you're musing on this topic, what do you think of how this Golden Globes nominee from across the pond looked as she celebrated this year's awards early while enjoying a star-studded party at the venerable Chateau Marmont? Do you think this celebration in West Hollywood put on by W Magazine was the right place to wear this fashion-forward outfit or do you think the ensemble should have been saved for another big occasion?
