"The X Factor" U.S. host Mario Lopez and his wife, Courtney, are expecting their second child. The announcement was made during a taping of "Extra" (another show hosted by Mario Lopez) on Feb. 19, 2013, when their 2-year-old daughter, Gia Francesca, was seen wearing a T-shirt that said "Big Sister Gia."
According to "Extra," Mario and Courtney Lopez's second child is due in the summer of 2013, but they have not publicly revealed if they know if the child is a boy or a girl. A baby shower was held after the announcement. Mario Lopez (who is 39) commented: "I am the happiest father in the world. We cannot wait to welcome baby Lopez number two into our lives."
Mario and Courtney Lopez were married on Dec. 1, 2012, in Punta Mita, Mexico. The wedding was televised a week later on a TLC special.
The couple met in 2006, when they were in the cast of the Broadway musical "A Chorus Line," and they began dating in 2008. Their daughter Gia was born in 2010. Courtney (who is 30) changed her last name from Mazza to Lopez after she got married.
Mario was previously married to actress Ali Landry in 2004, but the marriage was annulled after two weeks. Landry has said in several interviews that he cheated on her before and during the marriage.
In October 2012, Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian joined "The X Factor" U.S. as co-hosts. As previously reported, Kardashian has now been fired, but Mario Lopez will continue as host of the show. He and Kardashian have not yet publicly commented on their current employment status with "The X Factor." Representatives for the show have not confirmed or denied this news either.
