The pre-order sales of two of the biggest games coming out this month has been compared. According to a report from Cinema Blend on May 16, "Mario Kart 8" is currently outselling the PS4 version of "Watch Dogs" on Amazon. The news may be a surprise to some considering the amount of attention the new intellectual property has been getting. Not to mention that the PS4 user base is bigger than the Wii U.
However, "Mario Kart 8" did receive some positive reviews from many media outlets recently. Furthermore, Nintendo is also offering a free game download when the arcade racing game is registered at Club Nintendo by the end of July. The eligible free games include "New Super Mario Bros U," "Pikmin 3," "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD" and "Wii Party U." Due to these elements, customers are pre-ordering "Mario Kart 8" in advance. You can find a screen featuring the racing title from the official Nintendo Twitter page with the photo near the top of this article.
On the other hand, "Watch Dogs" suffered from some negative attention. Ubisoft confirmed that the resolution for the PS4 version was at 900p while the Xbox One version was confirmed to be 792p. Several fans were also upset that the video game may not be looking as good as previously advertised. Although the PS4 title may be selling less than "Mario Kart 8" currently, it is still the second best-selling title on Amazon.
The sales for "Watch Dogs" are also spread out across the PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms in addition to the PS4. As a result, the cumulative total could be higher than the Wii U exclusive game. "Watch Dogs" is due to arrive on May 27 (except for the Wii U, which is targeting a fall release) while "Mario Kart 8" is coming out three days later in the same region on May 30. Both video games are available for pre-order at Amazon.com with the next links: "Mario Kart 8" and "Watch Dogs."
