Satoru Iwata has hinted that some of the video games that will be shown off at E3 2014. According to a report from Hardcore Gamer on May 10, the president and chief executive officer at Nintendo was featured in a question and answer session during the company's latest fiscal report. He confirmed that they are going to be showcasing other titles for the high-definition console in addition to "Mario Kart 8" and "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U.
Multiple games will be on display to show off the Game Pad features. Nintendo previously confirmed that a new title is going to take advantage of the NFC features. For example, players can place a figurine onto the designated area of the controller in order to unlock a character. The other titles, some of which are close to completion, should use the Game Pad and appeal to the hardcore community at the same time. Shigeru Miyamoto is supervising all projects. You can find the statement made be Satoru Iwata below:
Also, at that time, we will introduce multiple games that are designed to introduce players to the value of the Wii U Game Pad by demonstrating playstyles only possible because of it. These titles have been developed by internal teams under the guidance of Mr. Miyamoto (Board Member, General Manager of the Development Division). The software titles that we will show at E3, which make use of the GamePad, will range from near complete titles to titles that are early in development, but will demonstrate the titles’ core appeals. We are preparing multiple software like this for the show.
"Mario Kart 8" and "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U should remained the top priorities for Nintendo, however. The arcade racing game will be released at the end of this month on May 30 and should give a big boost to the struggling sales of the console. A screen of "Mario Kart 8" from the official Nintendo of America Twitter website is located near the top side of this article.
"Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U is expected to be the big holiday release by Nintendo. The crossover fighting game combines the franchises from the company along with a few third-party series to create a massive fan service experience. Along with some potential announcements, Nintendo is also holding a special tournament for the console version of the fourth main installment of the series at E3 2014. Select Best Buy stores will also provide playable demos at the same time next month.
