On Friday, the Independent Journal Review posted an open letter it said was written by Marine veteran Nick Powers addressing ISIS' threat to attack the United States and raise the Islamic flag inside the White House. According to Kyle Becker, Powers wrote the letter in response to the beheading of journalist James Foley, and warns the group in no uncertain terms that if they do attack the United States, no mercy would be given.
"As I sit here constantly hearing and watching you execute innocent men, women and children in the Middle East I chuckle," he began. As we have reported, the terrorist group that has taken large areas of Syria and Iraq have beheaded children, buried women and children alive, and even cut a five-year-old boy in half. One eyewitness said ISIS terrorists tore a woman in two after tying her to two vehicles.
Powers minced no words, calling the terrorists cowards and fools. He also accused them of "scaring a population that doesn’t know how to fight" and of "bullying the weak."
"You say Islam is the religion of peace, but since when does terrorizing the innocent and beheading men, women and children constitute peace?" he asked. He then reminded ISIS that Saddam Hussein's troops surrendered to coalition forces and called their threats to attack America "empty."
He then reminded ISIS of what they would face if they attempted an attack on the United States, telling them that there were about 21.2 million veterans in the U.S. in 2012. He continued, explaining what that meant.
"That means there are literally millions of disgruntled, dysfunctional, pissed off veterans who have been dealing with years of abuse from their government stabbing them in the backs and having to watch their friends die because you Islamic extremist idiots can’t seem to act like normal human beings and stop terrorism and the violence," he said. "It’s one thing to take over an Islamic state, but if my memory serves me correctly, I’m pretty sure we plowed through Fallujah in 4 days."
"Do you really think you stand a chance on US soil?" he asked. "Do you really think it would be smart to poke that bear?"
He informed them that Americans are "armed to the teeth" and said the Geneva Convention would not apply to them. He then taunted them, warning that Americans would have no mercy upon them.
"You attack us and there will be no mercy," he said. "We will bring the righteous hand of God down upon you and crush you."
A post at American Live Wire said Powers' message, which was first posted at the Warfighter Foundation, has picked up steam and is beginning to go viral. A disclaimer posted at American Live Wire says those who think Powers' message is aimed at all Muslims is "too blind to read."
