Marine stabbed in shoplifting gone bad, Augusta Georgia

Another Marine in full dress uniform was stabbed in public.

This time the attack was during an attempted shoplifting event in Augusta, Georgia where the suspect was concealing a laptop computer while attempting to get it out of the store.

In-store security cameras caught him red-handed. .

Best Buy store employees were the first to confront the would-be armed robber.

The Marines, who were conducting their annual “Toys for Tots” Christmas campaign, came to the store employees’ aid and things went decidedly downhill from there.

Marine Reservist Cpl. Phillip Duggan was stabbed once near his spine by the would-be robber as he and the other Marines wrestled the knife-wielding, out-of-control suspect to the floor.

Charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, Tracey Attaway, 39, was taken into custody and Cpl. Duggan was taken to the hospital for stitches and released in good condition.

How dare this thief? This just makes my blood boil - so thankful Cpl. Duggan will be alright and I hope the crook will be fully prosecuted.

Gotta be the dumbest crook in the world to try something like that with a bunch of Marines right there in the store. What, did he think they were just going to let him go? Marines once again prove they're right there when things hit the fan. Cpl Duggan probably saved the life of at least one Best Buy employee by getting in the way of that knife, too. Way to go, guys!

According to the ploice report, the assailant suffered 2 broken arms, 3 lost teeth, 4 broken ribs, and multiple contusions when he slipped off the curb! Just kidding but never mess with the Marines. Semper FI
