The deceased Marine was identified as Cpl. Nick Sell. Cpl. Sell died when the tank he was riding in caught fire.
According to Stars and Stripes, the incident occurred before noon, local time, at the Air Ground Combat Center which is located over 100 miles east of Los Angeles. The California desert-area is home to several military training centers.
One of the injured Marines remains hospitalized. Three others were treated and released.
There has been little information from the military since the investigation is ongoing.
Seven Marines were killed in an explosion at the Army Training Depot in Nevada in March of this year. Human error was blamed on the incident.
