Say what? You read that right. Spoiler TV broke the news on Thursday; FX’s hit drama has added a new cast member, and it’s certainly a surprise. Heavy metal star Marilyn Manson has been cast for “Sons of Anarchy” Season 7.
What an interesting addition! Manson’s character is called Ron Tully. His role is described as a white supremacist “prison shot-caller.” Tully will be used by Jax to expand his power base.
Although Manson is more commonly known for his music and for being a bit controversial, this isn’t the first time Manson lands a cameo. The rock star has also made appearances in “Once Upon a Time,” “Eastbound & Down,” “Californication,” and more. All have been minor roles.
“With the creation of a new album and while launching a world tour, he grabbed the attention of SOA creator, Kurt Sutter,” the source writes. It looks like Sutter might be a fan. E! Online though, reports that Manson actually personally asked to be part of the show. Manson told the source that he and his dad are big fans of the show.
We are also huge “Sons of Anarchy” fans, so I hope this is nothing but good news for the series. Manson only has his best intentions in mind, he shared that he wants to make his father proud by being involved in “what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema.”
Manson continues his statement with, “After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship. So, now all I need is a motorcycle.” This could turn out to be pretty cool, can’t wait!
In case you missed it, Drea de Matteo’s character (Wendy) has been promoted to series regular. “Sons of Anarchy” Season 7 will arrive to FX this coming September. We can’t wait to see the aftermath of Tara’s shocking death.
