Orange will be the new black for controversial heavy metal rock star Marilyn Manson who will be trading in his on-stage outfits for prison garb in the upcoming season of the FX drama series “Sons of Anarchy.” Going for the schoolmarm look will be fellow headline grabbing singer Courtney Love who will first appear in the fourth episode as Ms. Harrison, Jax’s son Abel’s pre-school teacher. Her character’s special interest in Abel is sure to draw the attention of the boy’s mother Wendy (Drea de Matteo). The Hole front-woman and widow of grunge music icon Kurt Cobain has a list of impressive acting feats which have garnered several nominations and critical acclaim within the industry. Perhaps the most notable recognition was Love’s Golden Globe nod for her portrayal as Althea, the wife of porn publishing giant Larry Flynt in Milos Forman’s 1996 blockbuster “The People vs. Larry Flynt.”

Manson will be making his debut on the series as imprisoned white supremacist gang leader Ron Tully – a shot caller prison baller. Born Brian Hugh Warner in Canton, Ohio, the 45-year-old musician has a few television credits under his belt with appearances on “Californication,” “Eastbound and Down,” and the popular ABC fantasy series “Once Upon a Time.”

Also coming back for more disorderly conduct will be Walton Goggins, on loan from FX’s other hit show “Justified.” Goggins will reprise his role as the emotionally damaged transgender escort Venus Van Damme. The character first showed up on the scene in season five, then made other appearances in two episodes of season six.

Goggins’ “Justified” character, criminal Boyd Crowder, has been itching to wear a Harlan County jumpsuit since season one but his cunning and intellect has saved him from a life behind bars up to so far. Playing the role of Venus Van Damme is a far cry from Boyd Crowder and is a further display of Goggins’ sharpened acting chops.

The seventh and final season of “Sons of Anarchy” returns to FX on September 9.
