An arrest has been made in the case of Andra Grace, the dog dragged behind a pickup truck last week. WYFF4 announced on December 5.

According to Greenville County Governmental Affairs Coordinator Bob Mihalic, Roger Owens of Marietta, South Carolina has been charged with cruelty to animals.

Andra Grace is the dog whose story went viral after news broke of this sweet dog who suffered horrific injuries when dragged behind a pickup last week.

She was rescued on November 29, injured and starved.

Charges were made after two volunteers conducted a door-to-door search in the Marietta neighborhood where a few Good Samaritans traced a trail of blood after the abuser took off. It didn't take long to find witnesses, and information taken was turned over to Greenville Animal Control and local law enforcement.

Roger Owens will go before a judge on December 20.

You can follow Andra Grace on Facebook as she recovers from horrific abuse. Previous Examiner articles covering her story can be found under suggested by the author.

To donate to Andra Grace's care, a donation page has been set up at You Caring by SNARR Northeast, who has taken responsibility for her care.

A petition has been set up to beg SC representatives to create tougher animal cruelty laws.
