A 66-year-old woman was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in her Cobb County home Sunday morning, and police said it was her husband who reported that she had been shot.
They also said it was the 67-year-old man who killed her. But they did not say why.
Investigators said the Cobb County Emergency Communications Center had received a 911 call from a man who said that his wife had been shot.
“When uniform officers arrived at the home, they located the body of a female who was deceased from apparent gun shots wounds,” police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
The woman has been identified as Mrs. Lynn York of Marietta. Her husband, Mr. David Rex York, Jr. was charged with aggravated assault and murder, police said.
He remained at the Cobb County jail Sunday night without bond, according to jail records.
