Marie Osmond’s son, Michael committed suicide after battling severe depression. Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Blosil killed himself Friday night in Los Angeles. Blosil, 18, left a suicide note before leaping from his apartment building around 9 pm Friday night.

Saturday, Donny Osmond told Entertainment Tonight: "Please pray for my sister and her family."

Michael had been suffering from severe depression, and entered a rehab center in 2007.  The reason was never disclosed.

At the time Marie Osmond said: “My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him.”

Marie Osmond has eight children with ex-husband Brian Blosil. Donny and Marie Osmond grew up in Utah and still have home there, but have been performing their own show in Las Vegas and temporarily moved there. The Saturday night Las Vegas performance had been cancelled.

Earlier this year, Marie said that Michael seemed to be turning his life around and was finishing high school. Michael stayed with his mom in Las Vegas, according to People magazine.

People magazine reported: "I couldn't be more proud of him," Marie said. "He's got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He's looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges."

Just a few hours ago Marie Osmond said that their family is in deep shock by what has happened and asked for privacy during this time.

My heart is broken for Marie and her family. Marie is such a wonderful and caring human being, and I was devastated when I heard about her son's suicide. Marie does talk about her children, whom she adores, and she did mention some time ago, that he was doing better. I know and truly believe the Marie did everything in her power to help Michael. I hope and pray that Marie will get through this. I know she has a very supportive family, and especially her loving brother Donny. My condolences to Marie and her children.

My heart, prayers & tears go to Marie and her family. This could have been me a few weeks ago. As my son is still in hospital & had to change medication. I feel we are not reaching out enough to these people that need us. I found out while my son has been in hospital that there is a person every 16 minutes that commits suicide in the readers digest. That was very upsetting and scary to me. The article was about Virginia Cervasio that started up a foundation called C.A.R.E.S (community awareness in recognizing and educating on suicide) Virginia lost her son at age 26 yrs. and didn't even know there was a problem. I think we need to talk about this and maybe have MORE foundations nationwide!! In honor of these people!! My son said he was over stressed by his meds & stresses of life. I am so sorry for your loss & my heart breaks for you & family!!!
