Marie C. Johns, SBA Deputy Administrator, is back in the Bay Area, as the keynote speaker at the Black Economic Council (BEC) 6th Annual Urban Economic Conference ‘Bridging the Economic Gap.’ The event is free and will be held on June 23 at the Oakland Marriott City Center, (www.blackeconomiccouncil.com). Johns, a longtime advocate for small businesses, has an impressive background from managing member of L&L Consulting, LLC; President of Verizon Washington; long record of business and civic leadership; former chair of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Washington, D.C. Technology Council to the former chair of Leadership Greater Washington. She earned her BS and MPA degrees from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
