Examiner.com: First of all tell us what brings you all the way from Glendale, Arizona to Cerritos, California?
Mariah West: The chance to be in a movie.
Mariah West: I took acting and modeling classes at the Young Agency.
Examiner.com: As a model of mixed ancestry do you feel that there is a limited amount of roles for you in the entertainment industry or do you feel there are many opportunities open to you?
Mariah West: In a way it kind of feels limiting because I'm mixed and do not look like the stereotypical ways that most people would associate with my races. Plus I only speak English and many ethnic roles expect performers to speak their native languages.
Examiner.com: What are some significant modeling and acting shows that you particularly enjoyed or hope to work with again in the near future?
Mariah West: I like modeling in Quinceañera fashion shows and in the World Championships of the Performing Arts Competition. I hope to do more events as a Butterscotch Toffee Model.
Examiner.com: As a petite model do you believe that a person who is interested in modeling or acting can be successful?
Mariah West: Yes, if they get in more shows, get more exposure, keep trying, and don't give up.
Examiner.com: How do you feel about being included in the Miss India America Movie?
Mariah West: Fantastic because it is interesting and it something I never really done before. I get to see how different culture's pageants are ran. I like being in events that are for minorities.
Examiner.com: Tell us about some exciting projects that have recently reached out to you.
Mariah West: MTV's Beyond Dance, radio show opportunities, upcoming movies, and music video principal roles.
Examiner.com: Who is your favorite best dressed performer?
Mariah West: Katy Perry
Examiner.com: What kind of activities do you like to participate in when you are not on set or in school?
Mariah West: I like to go clubbing, visit amusement parks, and to travel.
Examiner.com: How do you feel about having a drink named after you?
Mariah West: I came up with the name the Mariah Cherry after my older sister asked me to help name one of our latest hot chocolate drinks served at Butterscotch Toffee, our family owned business. I have red hair that matches the cherries used in it.
Examiner.com: What is your favorite clothing item?
Mariah West: Boots and Cardigans.
Examiner.com: Do you feel like there are more entertainment opportunities in California or Arizona?
Mariah West: California because there are more celebrities here and productions made out here.
Examiner.com: What kind of clothing items do you suggest bringing to movie productions?
Mariah West: It depends on what kind of movie it is but you should bring more than one outfit. Also bring more than one pair of shoes and accessories.
Examiner.com: What should your friends and fans expect from you in the near future?
Mariah West: To see me in more modeling shows and movies.
