Pop star Mariah Carey released the music video for her latest single, “Almost Home,” on Friday. The song was lifted from the Disney movie, “Oz the Great and Powerful,” which gets plenty of screen time with Mariah in the video.
The “Almost Home” video opens with Carey singing the uplifting ballad in a room to herself. Her scenes are shot in black-and-white as she gives an emotional performance of the track. The video then becomes technicolor when vibrant scenes from “Oz the Great and Powerful” are shown throughout. It's a simplistic video that allows Carey to shine alongside the whimsical Disney feature.
The electronic “Almost Home” was produced by Stargate, the team behind Rihanna's “Diamonds.” The song was released to iTunes on Feb. 19. “Oz the Great and Powerful” was released to theaters throughout the country on March 8. Carey is currently sitting as a judge on the twelfth season of FOX's “American Idol.”
