Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are getting a divorce, or at least that is what the tabloids are reporting. On Thursday TMZ writes the celebrity powerhouse couple’s “divorce is a done deal” and Mariah and Nick have been “separated for months.”

Earlier this week Page Six reported, “the end is near” for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. According to The New York Post Mariah, 44, and Nick, 33, have been living apart since May. Insiders allege Cannon has been “living out of the couple’s home in hotels because they have been fighting a lot.” The report went on to claim Carey suspects Nick of infidelity, and she went so far as to hire a security guard to keep him from women at one of his Las Vegas pool parties earlier this year. Apparently Mariah and Nick’s multi-million dollar Bel Air mansion was put on the market in July, feeding the divorce speculation.

TMZ asserts Cannon and Carey have been living in separate New York City residences, and according to its source, the celebrity couple are under property settlement negotiations and a custody battle, solidifying the divorce as a “done deal.” Problems in paradise allegedly began after Nick Cannon admitted live on a radio talk show that he’d slept with Kim Kardashian prior to marrying Mariah Carey, which didn’t sit well with the Grammy-winning diva. Mariah feels “abandoned” that Nick chooses work over family, a fact that angers Carey because it keeps him away from their three-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

Representatives for both Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon declined comments about the pair’s personal business to both TMZ and Page Six. However, Us Weekly writes sources behind the scenes of “America’s Got Talent” have noticed the host’s “upbeat demeanor” has changed. Apparently Mariah has never visited the set of her husband’s gig in all of the combined seasons he’s hosted.

Nick Cannon has reportedly not mentioned his wife publicly and Mariah’s social media feed has been missing posts about the pair who normally and proudly display their love and affection, feeding more fuel to the divorce rumor mill. In May of 2013 Mariah Carey and Cannon renewed wedding vows in a fantasy wedding at the Disneyland Resort. Mariah and Nick have been married for six years. This is Cannon’s first marriage and Carey’s second. Mariah divorced Tommy Mottola in 1998.
