Maria Menounos not fired from ‘Extra’

TV entertainment correspondent Maria Menounos is stepping down from her gig at “Extra,” but she wasn’t fired, according to a March 24 report from Us Weekly. The TV star, who joined the syndicated entertainment news show two years ago, is leaving on her own accord so she can pursue other opportunities.

Rumors of a rift with “Extra” host Mario Lopez are also untrue. A source told People, “There's no Mario-Maria thing. She has no problem with him. She's fine with her co-host … She's exploring a few options right now. There was absolutely no drama."

Menounos’s new reality show “Chasing Maria Menounos” recently premiered on Oxygen. It follows the Greek beauty and her longtime boyfriend, Keven Undergaro, as well as her parents Costas and Litsa.

Meanwhile, Lopez recently hinted that he may be a guest judge this season on “Dancing with the Stars.” Both Lopez and Menounos have competed on past seasons of the ABC celebrity ballroom competition.
