Margot MacDonald could be considered a modern one-woman band. Her biggest strength is her vocals. The 22 year old musician has released four albums. She started singing with The Washington Opera at the age of 10, she has been a musician in residence at The Strathmore Music Center, she has won 11 Washington Area Music Awards, she has opened for National artists, and you may have heard of her on NPR. She has performed at some of the best venues in the area including the 9:30 Club, The Strathmore, and The Kennedy Center to name a few. In addition to her vocals she can hold her own on the guitar and piano. She enhances her vocals by adding loops which adds layers of depths to her music.
She celebrates the release of her latest album "Canvas" with a special show at the Black Cat on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. The venue is located at 1811 14th Street in Washington just three blocks from METRO's U Street/Cardoza station.Doors open at 8 PM and tickets are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show.
