The newest branch of the Margaritaville family tree is scheduled to open on Monday, Mar. 4, 2013 at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. Inspired by the lines and lyrics of Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville restaurants serve as an escape to the island destination of a diner’s dream or memory.
Visitors to the Cincinnati area as well as local residents looking for a cool but casual place to have a good time can enjoy a frosty beverage, catch up with friends or listen to some great live music at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Cincinnati’s residents and visitors,” said Phil Lambert, General Manager of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Cincinnati. “Our restaurant will feature amazing live entertainment, great food and some of the best views of downtown from our outdoor patio. We’re all huge fans of this city and look forward to serving our neighbors in the next weeks.”
Located beside the Horseshoe Casino’s main entrance, the restaurant’s natural materials and warm, tropical colors create a welcoming atmosphere. There is a large dining space, a concert stage and multiple bars.
The interior of the Margaritaville restaurant pays homage to the history and lyrical ties found in Cincinnati, which just so happens to be the birthplace of the term Parrot Head. From the “Postcards from the Road” wall to the Parrot Head theming and memorabilia, the venue brings together the image of Margaritaville in Cincinnati.
Buffett always manages to put a piece of himself and the community into his restaurant locations. Cincinnati, Ohio is marked on the sky chart on the ceiling. Suspended over the dining area is a Grumman Goose seaplane. The Albatross, which is also known as the Hemisphere Dancer, is on display at Margaritaville Orlando.
A large deck overlooks the Horseshoe’s performance lawn. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining, drinks or a live performance on the lawn. As with the other restaurant locations, there is a Margaritaville Retail Store so that visitors can take home some of the music, fashion and flavors of Margaritaville.
Besides famous margaritas, fruity frozen concoctions and various other boat drinks, Margaritaville offers its signature Cheeseburger in Paradise (which is at the top of this Examiner’s best burger list), Jamaica Mistaica wings, calypso mahi-mahi and key lime pie. If I might offer a suggestion … don’t skip dessert. The key lime pie is divine.
Joining Margaritaville at Horseshoe Casino is another celebrity-owned dining destination, Bobby Flay’s Bobby’s Burger Palace.
